Kevin Silk named WGSN managing director

Global apparel trend forecasting service WGSN has named Kevin Silk as its newest managing director.

Silk was previously EVP at trend forecasting service Stylesight before leading its merger with WGSN in 2014 and joining Ascential's family.

WGSN releases trend reports on fashion, lifestyle and interiors. WGSN is one of Ascential's chief holdings as the world's leading global trend forecasting name.

Duncan Painter, Chief Executive, Ascential, said, "Kevin has worked closely alongside [his predecessor] in leading the WGSN business to great success over the last two years. Together with his vast experience in subscription and SaaS businesses, this made him the standout candidate to continue to execute the strategy and business plan for this critical product brand."

Silk assumes the role from Jose Papa who has moved on to another role within the Ascential network as managing director for the Lions Festivals which includes the Cannes Lions festival for the branded communications industry.

Silk will begin the role September 1.
