Kenzo stages hologram fashion show for “les Journées Particulières”

The fashion house Kenzo, undergoing a makeover since 2011, will open its Paris headquarters to the public on June 15 and 16. It is a two-day happening made all the more special as it marks Kenzo’s first participation in an initiative launched in 2011 by the LVMH group, modeled on European Heritage Days.

“There will be pattern makers, seamstresses, studio designers, all working away and ready to explain the processes that go into the construction of a garment,” artistic directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon told FashionMag. The company’s Paris operation will also put on a fashion show in 3-D holograms: “we love technology and use it every day, whether it be through the development of our digital platform and our obsession with our blog or Instagram and Twitter, said the creative duo. And we wanted to incorporate technology into the event and thought that doing a holographic show would be an amazing way to show people a different way of looking at our clothes,” Carol Lim and Humberto Leon said. “Visitors will have the chance to meet the people behind Kenzo. These visitors, be they students, families, fashionistas or simply whoever wants to come by, will discover how Kenzo operates and how it contributes to the French, and international fashion industry.”

The “Les Journées Particulières,” organized by LVMH, launched a very informative website a few weeks ago that details all the operations of LVMH brands throughout Europe, from the workshops of Loewe in Spain to Polish distilleries producing Belvedere vodka. While Louis Vuitton, Dior and Berluti are among the most in-demand Paris locations for the event, Celine is again notably absent for the second time in a row.

Please note: reservations to visit most of the sites are booked out, but visitors who come to a given location on the day of the event may be allowed in, subject to availability.
