Jimmy Choo launches India-exclusive collection

Inspired by the upcoming Diwali festival, Jimmy Choo has just launched a capsule collection that is exclusively available in their Indian boutiques.

The capsule collection from the premium shoes and accessories label includes handbags and silk scarves with a beige and gold colour palette. The collection is inspired by Indian style, seen in the hand- embroidered fabric used for some of the evening bags as well as the glitter finish, designed to bring to mind Diwali lights.

The evening bags are based on Jimmy Choo’s classic bag, the Celeste, but have been given a makeover with different fabrics and textures. The Jimmy Choo logo is also more prominent and has been given some extra sparkle. Each item has a special label that says “exclusive for India,” and the idea is that, as they are limited edition, they will soon become collector’s items.

Sandra Choi, the Creative Director of Jimmy Choo, said of the collection: “Diwali celebrates the joyful festival of light which feels full of optimism. A luminous beauty is created by the myriad forms of twinkling lights displayed during the Diwali celebration. I wanted to create pieces that reflected this with an embroidery design that was inspired by the magical, dancing light of diyas floating on water.”
