Iceberg is going back to its roots. As reported by FashionNetwork.com at the end of August, the Italian fashion label belonging to the Gilmar group has called on Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to create a new capsule collection. The French designer was Iceberg's first creative director during the label's golden era, between 1976 and 1987.

The 30-item collection is called Iceberg Icons, and features a revised selection of signature models created by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac 30 years ago, adding a new, contemporary twist to them. The mood is altogether playful, marked by the designer's distinctive pop vibe.

"I designed this capsule collection with the same joy I felt when I worked on Iceberg originally. I wanted it to be pure and poetic. The stripes are a reference to awnings, sails and pennants flying freely in the wind, this summer 2017 has a distinctively light-hearted touch, like a tender memory snuggling inside our hearts," stated the designer in a press release.

Iceberg's men's and women's lines are now styled by young British designer James Long. The label has stopped showing this season, and is turning towards a more street-savvy, commercial range.
