Jack & Jones pins India success to e-comm, plans expansion

Jack & Jones, which is currently preparing to roll out its spring/ summer collection in India, has reached new markets through e-commerce and aims to continue expanding online.

As with many clothing brands in India, the next market Jack & Jones is aiming to tap into is that of Tier 2 and 3 cities where fashion and trend consciousness is steeply on the rise and there is growing demand for international brands. After announcing last November that it would be focusing on there more rural areas for the next round of growth in India, good online performance appears to show that this strategy is starting to pay off.

“Jack & Jones is present on all major e-commerce websites in India,” said Vineet Gautam, the Country Manager and CEO of Bestseller India, which is responsible for Jack & Jones in India. “The brand also has a dedicated own website… to aid e-commerce activity. The online business has been extremely encouraging with significant growth in sales every quarter.”

“With brands, present both online and offline, there has been a significant improvement in customer accessibility,” said Gautam. “Consumers can easily view and compare branded products and prices thereby increasing awareness and demand.”

Being present on large scale multi brand e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart has generated new customers and allowed customers in more rural areas to have items delivered through the ever increasing delivery reach of the larger e-commerce platforms. In future, Jack & Jones aims to further expand both their e-commerce presence and rural brand penetration.

Jack & Jones was launched in 1990 in Oslo, Norway and entered India in 2008. The brand is currently present in 70 Indian cities through brick and mortar format stores and is available on a variety of e-commerce platforms. Jack & Jones is currently present in a total of 38 countries worldwide.
