Anderson has teamed up with The Hepworth Wakefield gallery in West Yorkshire to curate "Disobedient Bodies," an exhibition that explores the boundaries between fashion, art and design.

"This is a rare and exciting opportunity for me to bring together pieces of art and fashion that have long inspired my own creative work and to see what happens when these objects rub up against each other," said the designer, who is known for his work as the Creative Director of Loewe as well as for his eponymous label, J. W. Anderson. He added that he wanted in part to create: "a space in which to explore ideas of gender and identity that have been an ongoing part of my creative practice."

The exhibition, which examines the ways in which the human form has been reimagined by artists and designers throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, features more than 100 objects. These include sculptures by artists such as Lynn Chadwick, Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore, which are paired with fashion pieces by Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood and others. At the spectacle's center is an interactive forest of oversized jumpers created by Anderson, inviting visitors to transform themselves into abstract shapes.

The exhibition is not the only big project Anderson has on his plate at the moment, having been unveiled as the 'Special Guest' at the upcoming edition of the Italian menswear event Pitti Uomo this June.

'Disobedient Bodies: JWAnderson curates The Hepworth Wakefield' runs from March 18 through June 18, 2017.
