Following ready-to-wear designers and fashion houses on social media is a fabulous way to take in Paris Fashion Week. And since access to the event is generally reserved for industry insiders and buyers, it's definitely an easier way of getting a behind-the-scenes look at the action than trying to get tickets. Here's a look at some of the Instagram accounts to follow for a glimpse backstage at this season's shows.

Nicolas Ghesquière
The creative director of women's collections at Louis Vuitton often post shots of campaigns and catwalk shows (among other things) to his Instagram account. As well as being treated to pictures of Vuitton's new collection, his 325,000 followers could get a look behind the scenes at the upcoming Paris show, and maybe even the after-show party.

Yohji Yamamoto
This Japanese designer is social media savvy, with regular posts to his label's Instagram account. His 52,000 followers can see backstage shots from catwalk shows, and the designer posts a large selection of videos for each of his collection previews.

Julien Dossena
As the creative director of Paco Rabanne for several seasons, Julien Dossena has played a major role in revamping the brand. He may be discreet, but this designer still has a social media presence, particularly on Instagram, with almost 13,000 followers and nearly 1,000 posts. He regularly shares pictures of lookbooks, campaigns and catwalk shows.

Isabel Marant
This fashion designer, whose upcoming collection previews on the Paris runway on March 4, frequently posts shots of her label's looks, catwalk shows and campaigns on social networks. Over 600,000 people follow the designer on Instagram for insider info on new collections. Isabel Marant often also shares videos, especially around the time of catwalk shows, presenting her new creations to a wider online audience.

Olivier Rousteing
The Balmain creative director is an obvious addition to the list given his high-profile social media presence. With over 2.3 million followers, he's one of the most active designers on Instagram (3,325 posts), and his fans are just as active. Olivier Rousteing is a must-follow for anyone taking in Paris Fashion Week online.
