India Retail Forum takes place in Mumbai

The India Retail Forum (IRF), powered by Mapic, took place in Mumbai from September 19 to 20 with the tagline “inside the world’s largest democracy of retail”.

The Renaissance Hotel in Mumbai hosted the IRF which featured over 200 international speakers who came together to discuss the current landscape of Indian retail and trends for the future. There were over 750 participating companies, over 100 exhibitors, and over 2,000 delegates from both India and abroad. The business to business event was both designed as a knowledge sharing opportunity and for brand networking.

One of the topics discussed was how India is becoming the world’s fastest growing major economy through an explosion in multi-channel and multi-format retail and what this means for Indian brands. The relationship between retail and technology was also discussed on the India Omni-channel Forum which was powered by Microsoft and celebrated its third edition at the event. Moreover, shoppers’ current expectations was also a topic for discussion.

The IRF also hosted a Retail Support Expo as part of the event with a retail support zone and retail concepts zone. The Indian Retail Awards also took place at the event. Some of the retailers that participated include Cbre, Puma, Max, P&G, Only, Citi, Coca Cola, Burger King, Lvmh, Metro, and Hp.

The IRF is powered by Mapic which was established in 1995 and is present in 78 countries. The business coordinates international retail and real estate conferences.
