The intimate wear showcase opened with international designer Mona Shroff and other brands such as La Joli by Keith Jackson, La Intimo, and Nidhi Munim also showed their latest collections on the runway among others.

“IIFW is a strong platform where we are trying to make intimate wear a topic of talk and boo the taboo,” said Amit Pandey, the Media Head and Associate Partner of IIFW, ahead of the event.

Along with an array of shows, IIFW also included discussions based on intimate wear in India. The “Intimate Debate” panel discussion, moderated by Sohini Mitra De, the Founder of Avant Garde Films, focused on intimate fashion in India and the taboos associated with it. Panellists including the INIFD Director Bandra, Vivek Dhawan, shared their hope that the industry will become more open and normalised in the near future.

“Intimate fashion should be as common as other fashion segments, IIFW’s initiative is addressing this issue and taking a leap in [the] fashion industry,” said Mona Varonica Campbell, India’s first transgender, plus size model.

Campbell participated in several runway shows at the event, as well as panel talk. Other plus size models also featured on the runway as the event aimed to be inclusive in nature.
