India International Footwear Fair 2017 to host over 100 foreign firms

The India International Footwear Fair 2017 (IIFF), an event showcasing footwear fashion brands and its retail industry will host over 100 foreign firms from China, Taiwan and Italy at its 3rd edition. Around 150 Indian companies have also confirmed their participation in the event. The fair will be organised by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from August 4 to 6.

India is currently the second largest global producer of footwear after China, accounting for 9.57% of global footwear production of 23.00 billion pairs.  India produces 2200 million pairs of different categories of footwear, out of which 95% is being sold in the domestic market.

The host nation through the three-day event will look to convince the foreign footwear firms to be a part of the ‘make in India’ initiative of the government and encourage them to do business in the country.

IIFF aims to project India as a favourite investment destination and highlight the export potential of the country, said a statement issued by the ministry of industry and commerce
The event is being organized in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Footwear Industries (CIFI) with support of the Council for Leather Exports (CLE), Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and Indian Footwear Components of Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA).
