H&M to open store in Aurangabad

Swedish fashion retailer, H&M, (Hennes & Mauritz) as part of its ongoing strategic expansion will open a new store in tier 2 city Aurangabad next month.

The brand, which recently opened at Iscon Emporio, Ahmedabad is targeting tier 1 and II cities to drive future growth and will open shortly at Prozone Mall in Aurangabad.
 
H&M has already witnessed strong sales in India especially in the metros which helped the company turn profitable in its first year. After going online early this year, the brand is now looking to tap the unexplored tier 1 and II markets.

The new store in Aurangabad will be spread across 17,000 square feet and will have collections for women, men, teenagers and kids.
 
“It’s exciting to continue our expansion in the Indian market with the H&M store in Aurangabad and look forward to welcoming customers to their new favourite fashion destination,” said Janne Einola, country manager at H&M India.
 
H&M has committed to investing Rs 720 crore (approx $108.2 million) in the Indian market and will be expanding its portfolio by launching home and cosmetics lines in the near future.
 
It currently operates 32 stores across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Amritsar, Indore, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Mohali, Mysore, Ahmedabad and Raipur.
