The Swedish clothing brand just opened a 17,000 square foot exclusive brand outlet (EBO) in Le Palazzo, Mumbai, one of its biggest yet in India.

H&M now has a total of five stores in Mumbai - H&M- Facebook

On October 26, H&M opened its fifth store in Mumbai in the Le Palazzo shopping centre at Kemp’s Corner, Mumbai. The two storey store carries all of H&M’s product lines including their womenswear, menswear, children’s wear, and accessories.

This store opening follows the launch of H&M’s first EBO in Ghaziabad at Redmall earlier this month and is part of the huge Indian retail expansion project that H&M is currently rolling out. The brand first opened in Mumbai with two stores launched in August 2016 and now, just over a year later, they have a total of five stores in the city. The first store in Mumbai was launched at High Street Phoenix and the brand now has a strong presence throughout the city. This is indicative of the fact that the brand has now become one of the most well-known international high street brands in the country.

H&M’s retail expansion target is to reach a total of 24 stores by the end of the year, by when it will have been present in India for two years. The brand also aims to launch online in 2018. Now H&M is on track to reach this target and Janne Einola, the brand’s India Country Manager, said: “H&M is especially excited to expand its reach in India, a market that poses tremendous potential both in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities and now online.”
