Gucci is increasingly becoming a fully fledged lifestyle brand. Under the aegis of its imaginative creative director Alessandro Michele, the Kering group's Italian luxury label has added a brand-new line of eclectic home decoration objects to its range, graced by a plethora of design motifs seen on the Gucci catwalks, such as animals and flowers. It is a collection that adds a final, harmonious touch to the world of Gucci the Italian designer has created in the last two years.

The Gucci Décor line borrows heavily from the ready-to-wear collections’ graphic themes, and includes among others candles, cushions, chairs, screens and table ware. As the fashion label explained in a press release, the idea is not to impose a Gucci decorative style, but rather to give customers the opportunity to create their own style, like collectors, selecting their items of choice from among the Gucci Décor articles.

As for example the porcelain candle holders in the distinctive style of Richard Ginori, the long-established Italian porcelain manufacturer which was acquired by Gucci, and for which Alessandro Michele has worked. The collection also includes a range of wallpapers in silk, vinyl and paper.

The Gucci Décor line will be launched next September, and its products will be available at Gucci flagship stores, on gucci.com and at selected specialised retailers.

The line will not be displayed in a dedicated area in Gucci stores, but will be naturally integrated within them, as though part of the ready-to-wear collections, "in order to emphasise Alessandro Michele's idea that owning these objects is simply another way of wearing Gucci."
