Level Shoes is a 96,000 square foot multi brand shoe emporium situated in the Dubai Mall, Dubai. The mall is putting on a campaign to celebrate Indian aesthetics this Diwali and will launch a collection of shoes in a three day festival to proceed the holiday.

Rania Masri, Level Shoes’ General Manager said of the event: “For Dear India, we really are pulling out all the stops. We have an impressive in-store line up of activities, designer talks, the debut of our exclusive collections, and a three day in-store festival, all leading up to Diwali.”

Indian fashion designer Gaurav Gupta has collaborated with the New York based shoe designer Chloe Gosselin to create a shoe design for the project that will retail exclusively at the Level Shoes store. However, when asked about his collaboration, Gupta said: “This is the beginning of the collaboration; I’m sure many more things will come out of this.” The shoe that the two have created is named “Opia” and mixes Gosselin’s signature shoe shape with pearl accents from Gupta’s atelier.

Other designers set to take part in the upcoming collaborative campaign include Alberta Ferretti, Tod’s, and Aquazurra. Indian jewellery design house Isharya and footwear brand the Soul Sisters will also feature in a pop up store area at the event.

Gaurav Gupta graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and has worked with Hussein Chalayan among others.

Gupta currently has two flagship stores, one in Mumbai and one in New Delhi where he offers ready to wear as well as made to measure couture. Gupta recently presented his “Moondust” collection at India Couture Week where actress Aditi Rao Hydari closed his ethereal, forest inspired show.
