Future Group eyes Rs 12000 crore from fashion, plans 15 Central stores

India’s leading retail giant Future Group is expecting to generate a revenue of Rs 12000 crore from its fashion vertical in the current financial year, according to a top company official. Future Group, which owns and runs fashion retail stores like FBB (Fashion Big Bazaar), Brand Factory and Central, is banking heavily on its fashion business for growth.

 “We expect the group’s fashion business to be around Rs 12000 crore this year and looking to generate around Rs 3500 from retail outlet ‘Central’, Future Group CEO Kishore Biyani was quoted as saying by a news agency.

The company has earmarked an investment of Rs 300 crore for adding 15 lifestyle departmental stores of Central across India.

At present, there are 35 Central stores in different cities across India with new stores expected to come up in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati and Indore, among others to take the store count to 50.
 
Future Group has also joined hands with West Bengal government to open ‘Biswa Bangla’ at Central stores across the country, the company said in a statement.

The first Central store to house Biswa Bangla was launched in Kolkata on Saturday. It is spread over 60,000 square foot to 2,30,000 square foot area and will showcase a premium mix of national and international brands in various categories, the statement added.

Biswa Bangla is the flagship apparel brand of the State Government of Bengal, which offers handloom sarees, linen shirts, casual pants, trousers, kurtas and more.
