Forever 21 rips off Wildfang's popular Wild Feminist t-shirt

In terms of copyright infringement and so-called “blatant rip-offs” from companies like Adidas and Puma, this has been a rough year for discount retailer Forever 21 — yet it continues to be in accusatory hot water. In recent news, celebrity-favored brand (think Kate Mara, Ellen Page, Sophia Bush) Wildfang’s Instagram famous T-shirt with the words “Wild Feminist” was allegedly ripped off by Forever 21 for the price of $10.90 versus Wildfang's $40.

Reportedly, Wildfang CEO and designer Emma Mcilroy  took to Instagram to announce the news, complete with the hashtag “#trademarkinfringement.” To add insult to injury, 10 percent of the profits from Wildfang’s original Wild Feminist tee go to Planned Parenthood and the ACLU — an initiative that’s part of a goal for the small business to raise $150,000 for charity.

While Wildfang is playing nice by not starting a social media war, reportedly the brand is expected to take legal action against Forever 21  — the company has yet to comment on the accusation.
