According to the driver, on Monday, December 18, a Flipkart goods delivery truck was looted for 26 lakh worth of merchandise and then destroyed by fire. The driver, who has not been named, said in his complaint: “I was on my way to Delhi, when an Omni van overtook my truck and blocked my way.” The driver continued: “When I did not stop, they gave the chase. They started firing shots, so I finally stopped the truck just opposite Manesar police station. Three of them held me hostage at gun point and took me with them, while two of them fled with the truck. They drove around for an hour before throwing me out near Panchgaon Chowk.”

The ACP (Pataudi), Beer Singh, said about Bilaspur police station’s response to the complaint: “We are looking at the CCTV footage from the nearby area. We have formed two special teams to look into the matter and are conducting raids at suspected places. We are yet to make an arrest in the case.”

A first information report (FIR) has been prepared by the police station against the so far unidentified robbers under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These include sections 365 (kidnap), 395 (dacoity, violent robbery by armed gang), 397 (robbery with attempt to cause grievous hurt), and 435 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to damage). Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act have also been noted.
