Fila Korea, owner of the hundred-year-old Fila brand since 2007, has just appointed Marzio Coizzi to the newly created post of commercial director for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. Mr. Coizzi had already previously worked for the brand for 23 years, be it through licencers or directly.

This appointment comes soon after the announcement of the company’s new structure and new key partners in the zone. Fila Korea’s plan for its Fila brand is in fact to have stronger but fewer partners. This way, the licence for the European market (with the exception of the UK and Ireland) has been given to Suisse Dosenbach-Ochsner (subsidiary of German footwear giant Deichmann). As for the UK and Ireland, Fila’s licence is in the hands of JD Sports Fashion.

Based in Italy, Marzio Coizzi’s role will be to supervise and support the brand’s development as well as its image in the zone. His mission also includes searching for new partners, which could be in countries where it is not present or even for specific product categories. Mr. Coizzi previously worked at Fila from 1999 to 2004 as the vice-president for clothing and footwear licences. He now rejoins the company from Miss Sixty Footwear, where he was in charge of retail and wholesale development in Asia. At Fila, Marzio Coizzi will report directly to president Gene Yoon.
