John C. Jay and the Group have a long-standing relationship, starting when the designer took part in Uniqlo's Fleece campaign in 1999. A collaboration that corresponded with a new creative direction for the brand, especially in terms of innovation and communications, pointed out the Group's CEO Tadashi Yanai.

"Effectively communicating with customers is even more important today than it was in the past, especially as Fast Retailing continues to develop internationally at a fast rate," explains the Director. "I think that John C. Jay is joining our company at the right time and, with his background and experience in retail, design and communications, he will be able to vastly contribute to the way in which we will communicate with the customers."

Fast Retailing owns the brands Uniqlo, GU, Theory, Comptoir des Cotonniers, Princesse Tam.Tam and J Brand. Its flagship brand, Uniqlo, is currently present in 1,400 stores across 16 countries.

The Group will soon be presenting its report for the 2013/2014 financial year which closed at the end of August. Some 7.1 billion in sales was achieved, leading Management to believe it can bank on 10.5 billion in 2014/2015.
