Tailored specifically for viewers in the Europe and Middle East, the new channel promises to reflect regional tastes and styles as well as offering programming in the Farsi language.

Owned by US-based Fashion One, Fashion Television already broadcasts to 80 countries and mixes footage from the world's biggest and most important fashion shows with lifestyle and news content relevant to individual territories.

However, this latest move will make it the first American-owned special interest television network dedicated to a Farsi audience.

"For years we have received a significant amount of feedback from Iranians living in the MENA region about our English language channel ‘Fashion One' while it was broadcasting Free-to-Air," said Gleb Livshitz, Fashion Television's Chief Operation Officer. "With Farsi being one of the important languages in the region, the channel will be fully localized in Farsi to cater to the local audience."
