“FDCI and Lotus are a perfect match as the synergy is ambient and invigorating,” said the FDCI’s President, Sunil Sethi.

“We are delighted with this collaboration.”

Sethi described beauty as the “fulcrum” of the event which is now called Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week (LMIFW) to honour the new sponsorship.

"You can expect to see us making revelatory fashion forecasts in the future and creating a new beauty blueprint for the year to come which will serve as a template for edits,” said Sethi about the partnership.

“I do feel that beauty is not just about trends or how to apply make-up. It is also about self-confidence and the most distinct visual form of communication." However, Sethi assured that the event would remain centred on the "business of fashion".

LMIFW will take place from October 10 to 13 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The upcoming spring/summer 2019 season will be the event’s first time sponsored by Lotus after previously being sponsored by Amazon India.
