On August 17th, Lakmé Fashion Weeks (LFW) hosted Ethicus Organic Cotton’s collection featuring sustainable hand weaves in deep jewel tones.
The Ethicus Organic Cotton show took place at the 6Degree Studio, St Regis, Mumbai and the event was livestreamed on Hotstar after having a countdown to the show on the brand’s social media sites. The collection was entitled “Matchmaker” and was full of mix and match pieces made of the brand’s signature sustainable cotton. The show took place on LFW’s Sustainable Fashion Day and Ethicus was one of the nine labels selected to showcase luxury sustainable fashion this season.
The collection featured models in head wraps and scarves paired with loose, simple shaped garments and sarees. The colour palate was rich and jewel like with hues such as dark green, brown, and blue.
Straight after the show, the brand travelled to Kochi as Ethicus will showcase its latest organic cotton sarees at the Samsaar Hall in Cochin on the 18th and 19th August. The format will be that of a pre-festival preview exhibition.
Ethicus Organic Cotton was launched in 2009 and has built a collection of 42 hand looms that has allowed it to specialise in organic cotton sarees. The brand describes its production process as “farm to fashion” and places a large emphasis on sustainability. The brand is available in boutiques in both Coimbatore and Chennai and also has its own e-commerce store.
