Fashion brand Esprit has teamed up with UN Women National Committee (NC) Australia for the fifth time to launch a signature scarf marking International Women's Day to support the empowerment of women and girls across the globe. All the proceeds from the sale of the scarves will go to UN Women programmes for creating brighter futures for women.

The company also said that 20 per cent from all instore and online sales on March 4-5 will go to support UN Women.

"We are deeply committed to building a better awareness amongst our employees, consumers and the broader market of the important work that the UN Women's committee delivers." said Stephen Newnham, head of retail Esprit Australia & New Zealand.

"The scarf is more than just a fashion statement, it is also a symbol of our passion for women's empowerment and gender equality," said Janelle Weissman, executive director of UN Women NC Australia.

The signature print scarf has been designed to support women across the globe this International Women's Day.  Esprit stores are also selling International Women's Day purple ribbons on the occasion.

This year's theme for International Women's Day is 'empower a woman, empower a nation'.
