Noida’s Escott Apparels announced that it will more than double its digital printing capacity to around 4,000 metres of fabric each day.

Escott Apparels has planned a huge expansion for their digital printing section

Escott Apparels specialises in knitted textiles and digital printing services and has a current printing capacity of around 1,500 metres of fabric a day. The leap to bring their total to 4,000 metres daily is expected to cost an investment of around one crore rupees (approximately 0.15 million dollars). This investment is following the belief that digital printing is set to further expand in India.

Sanjay Jain, Escott Apparels’ Company Director, said: “Our expansion will take place soon. As we have already got the good infrastructure for pre- and post-processing services, increased capacity will further help us serve our clients better.” This is in line with the government’s “Make in India” campaign that aims to increase domestic production in areas such as textile manufacture and industry.

However, despite the planned expansion, business has not all been easy for the company. Jain stated that, following the introduction of the GST, “overall business sentiments are not quite positive but demand is still there and it should grow. It is all about how you sustain yourself and control your cost. Our expansion will help us reduce costing and grow the business.”
