Kip Arnette, the co-founder of Electric (Kering group), which specializes in snow goggles and eyewear, is leaving the brand where he had been serving as its chief design office.

“For the first time in a long time I have decided to make a selfish decision in order to follow my passions and seek new adventures outside of work. I am proud of the brand’s success and am confident I am leaving Electric in great hands," said Arnette, who founded Electric in California in 2000 with Bruce Beach.

"It is pretty rare that any founder would stay with a brand that he/she had sold for the first time over 8 years ago, and seen two different owners since," said Electric CEO Eric Crane.

In 2011, Kering acquired the brand along with Volcom, which had itself purchased the brand three years earlier.

Bruce Beach, meanwhile, left Electric in April 2013. Since then, alongside the surfer Luke Egan, he founded a surfwear brand called Depactus.
