Ecco to debut new store in Edinburgh

The footwear label Ecco has taken a 1,871 square feet store at Rose Street in central Edinburgh on a 10-year lease.

Amanda O’Flaherty of Harper Dennis Hobbs, the real estate consultancy that represented Ecco said: “We have a number of new stores in the pipeline for Ecco and the company has plans for a further seven to ten next year. This is an exciting time and the brand is benefiting from a strong footwear market. The Edinburgh unit takes Ecco’s UK presence to 43 stores.”

The lease comes as part of Ecco’s expansion plans in the UK. The footwear company has also recently opened a new branch at into Bromley in London, and another at intu Metrocentre, in Gateshead. The company also plans to open two further stores in the UK before Christmas.

Ecco is a Danish shoe manufacturer and retailer with operations in the United States, Europe, and Australasia. Its main markets are the US, Germany and Sweden but overall the brand's shoes are available in more than 1,000 retail stores worldwide.
