Diana Penty to walk for Punit Balana at Lakme Fashion Week

Actress Diana Penty will join a host of other Bollywood beauties at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Spring-Summer 2018 edition, walking the ramp as showstopper for designer Punit Balana.

The Rajasthan-based designer Punit Balana will showcase his collection ‘Bagru’ on the final day on February 4 with Penty walking in the showstopper outfit.
 
The Bagru collection will feature modern silhouettes engulfed in traditional printed fabrics that have been created using natural dyes and traditional techniques.

Commenting on his new collection Balana, in a statement said, "I like to explore new technique every season and this year my collection is inspired by the 400-year-old art of printing which is namesake to the town 'Bagru' in Rajasthan, it originated in. Classic pieces characterised by traditional techniques, makes the collection unique yet wearable."
 
"This not only keeps our unique tradition of India alive, but also provides a better livelihood to the artisans and craftsmen," he added.
 
"I have always been very minimalistic and I prefer being comfortable in what I am wearing. Punit's clothes are perfect for a casual day out. I am looking forward to walking for him at the Lakme Fashion week," Penty said, in a statement.
 
At the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive in August 2017 Diana Penty has walked for Hyderabad-based designer Shriya Bhupal as the showstopper.
 
Lakmé Fashion Week's Summer/Resort edition will start today (January 31) in Mumbai and go on till February 4. Designer Anamika Khanna will be closing the show.
