Outdoor Retailer, the foremost US outdoor industry show, has found a new venue. After a last summer session on 26th-29th July, which will be held, as for the last twenty years, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the show organiser Emerald Expositions has announced that the home for the show's next edition will be Denver, Colorado.

The Outdoor Retailer show will be held for the last time in Utah before moving to Denver - Outdoor Retailer

Emerald Expositions has recently bought the winter sports event Snow Show, also based in Colorado, and has now a string of events lined up for 2018 in the US state: SIA Industry and Intelligence Day on 24th January, the twin sessions of Outdoor Retailer and the Snow Show on 25th-28th January, followed by the SIA on-Snow Demo on 29th-30th January at Copper Mountain. In the summer, the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market on 23rd-26th July and finally the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market on 8th-11th November.

The US outdoor industry has recently decided to move en masse to Colorado, after a series of decisions by the Utah state government were seen to negatively affect environmental protection issues. As part of the venue move, Emerald Expositions has forged partnerships with the US Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), with SnowSports Industries America (SIA) and with the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance.

In a press release, Emerald Expositions underlined the relevance of the Denver choice, stating Colorado consumers spend $28 billion each year on outdoor activities, for an industry which offers 229,000 jobs.

For the time being, the agreement between the Colorado government and the show organiser runs for five years.
