Dabur India to strengthen distribution network

Dabur India is planning to strengthen its distribution network across the country and will also be boosting its e-commerce network to cater to a wider set of consumers.

Dabur has already made inroads into rural India and gained a strong foothold in these regions. With its latest expansion plan, it is looking to tap new markets especially in tier 2, tier 3 cities for growth.
 
“From around 1 million retail outlets, the company proposes to take it to 1.2 million this financial year. The company has been focusing on growing its distribution network not only in traditional trade but also in emerging channels like modern trade and e-commerce,” Lalit Malik, chief financial officer of Dabur India told the Financial Express.

“We have also significantly strengthened our rural footprint with Dabur now reaching close to 42,000 villages across the country,” Malik added.
 
Dabur India started the year well posting a net profit of Rs 330 crore ($49.6 million) for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019, and business revenue of Rs 2,154 crore.

Dabur India specializes in herbal ayurvedic goods and already has a large market share in this segment. The company is a leading player in India’s personal care market and has been reporting strong double-digit growth across all key categories like hair care, skin care, cosmetics, home care, and others.
