South Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda is fast becoming a luxury shopping destination and new shops are sprouting up all over the district. One of the latest editions is Colaba Cartel which had a soft opening on October 7 and is now fully open to the public.

The multi-brand designer boutique was created as a collaboration between jewellery designers Nitya Arora and Ileshaa Katau. Arora is the creative force behind the Valliyan design house and Katau owns and runs the label Parvati Villa. Colaba Cartel stocks both traditional and fusion clothing, jewellery, and homeware items and Arora and Katau have allowed each brand to curate their own space in the store to better show their brand aesthetic.

Some of the brands featured in the store include Nikhil Thampi’s evening wear collection, Anupamaa Dayal’s fusion wear, Astha Narang’s opulent traditional wear, and Shriya Som’s modern ready to wear. Other designers include Hemant & Nandita, Sukriti and Aakriti, Verandah by Anjali Patel Mehta, House of Sohn, and Deme by Gabriell. Parvati Villa’s stone and gold script jewellery and Valliyan’s Avant Gard costume accessories have also been given spaces at the store.
