Britain's Joules posts "outstanding" FY growth

British lifestyle label Joules reported a 21% total revenue increase in the year to May 25, 2014, the year the company turned 25. Revenue rose to £96.3m from £79.4m in 2013.

Own-store sales revenue rose by 36% in the period and e-commerce and catalogue sales were also up 36%. The appeal of the brand overseas was reflected in a 44% increase in international sales, and year to date international sales are up another 74%. Profit before tax and exceptional items grew by 23.3% to £5.1m.

The company also saw a 5% increase in wholesale sales year-on-year. Joules is continuing to extend into new product categories and launched a new eyewear range in the period, when it also extended its homeware range. The company opened 19 new stores in the period and currently has 99 stores.
