“The Bihar government has already set aside over 115 acres of land required for the park and the work on the same will begin soon as part of the state government’s policy for textiles”, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said while speaking at an event organised by the Bihar Readymade Garments Association.

To lure industrialists and textile manufacturers to invest in the project, the Bihar government will offer several incentives including exemption from land registration and conversion fees.

Bihar also offers cheap labour as majority of the workers currently employed in textile sectors across the country come from the state. The deputy CM feels that if garment and textile manufacturers invest in Bihar it will help stop migration and help in job creation in the state thereby bringing down the operational cost of the investors.

"Also on offer are 100 per cent refund on SGST (state goods and services tax), 50 per cent assistance on the amount payable towards EPF and ESI and a skill development subsidy of Rs 20,000 per employee from Bihar", Modi added.

The government of Bihar had recently sanctioned a grant of Rs 60 crore for setting up an advanced centre on sericulture for the growth of the silk industry in the state.
