Bata footwear appoints Smriti Mandhana as brand ambassador for Power

The opening batsman of the Indian Woman’s cricket team, Smriti Mandhana, has been made brand ambassador for Bata’s 'Power' sportswear brand.

Starting this month, Mandhana will promote Bata Power’s latest range of performance footwear, XO Rise running shoes.

The shoes, which have “25% More Rebound and Glide Vapour," according to Bata’s press release, also include memory foam for added comfort. The collection will be available across Bata’s India stores and pricing starts at 2,499 rupees.

“She personifies confidence and possesses a very pleasing personality,” said the brand’s press release. “That coupled with her ability to change the game, is what led Bata to identify her as the perfect fit for Power.”

Bata has quoted Mandhana in its press release: “When I was approached for Power, the first thing that clicked was their vision to enable more and more young Indians onto a path of fitness… It is a great privilege to be the brand ambassador for Power as it truly reflects my personal style and values.”

Bata’s sportswear brand Power was launched in 1971. The brand, designed in Canada, is sold worldwide, and produces technical footwear designed for a range of sportspeople. Bata India has a history of over 85 years and sells, on average, over 50 million pairs of footwear a year with 1,290 retail outlets.
