BFW organizers were embroiled in a legal battle with leading e-commerce giant over sponsorship of the event.
Dream Merchants, a city-based event management company that organizes Bangalore Fashion Week (BFW) had filed a complaint against Snapdeal who backed out of a three-year sponsorship contract after its first edition. A city court has also directed registration of a cheating case against Jasper InfoTech Pvt Ltd, owner of e-commerce marketplace Snapdeal.
With the sponsorship row behind them and a new sponsor onboard in the form of fashion start up 'Wear.Style,' the latest edition of BFW will feature 26 runway shows and 25 designers' creations, according to a statement.
Designers like Shruti Chopra, Govind Kumar Singh, Purvi Doshi, Rajyalakshmi Gubba, Vijay Rana and Riyaz Gangji will be part of the event.
"The 17th edition of the fashion week promises to be the most sought-after platform in the country, showcasing the latest in fashion for the winter festive season," said Feroz Khan, Event Director of Dream Merchants in a statement.
"Every year, our aim has been to nurture the creativity and talent of young designers. For this edition, we are proud to introduce names that not only define the future of fashion but bring in the rich fashion heritage the country has to offer," Khan added.
