Ayesha Accessories’ current two year expansion plan is that the business will be present at 200 points of sale across India. Kapur reported that that brand has been consistently growing at 30 percent year on year and has set a sales target of Rs 30 crore ($4.5 million) for this fiscal year. The brand also aims to double the contribution of e-commerce sales to overall sales from the current 10 percent to 20 percent this calendar year.

Kapur told Business of Fashion about her expansion plans and said: “In some Tier II cities we are present only in MBOs, so we are planning to open EBOs in cities like Kolkata and Lucknow. After opening EBOs in Tier II cities, we will try Tier III cities as well and see how it works and then we will see where it goes from there.”

As well as expanding further in India, Ayesha Accessories could soon be expanding internationally. Kapur stated: “I would eventually like to expand into other Asian markets.” However, she conceded that international expansion plans are in a nascent stage and there is a “need to put it in figures”.

At present, except for two, all stores of Ayehsa Accessories are company owned and the company has been self-funded to date. However, Kapur stated that she is open to possible funding talks in order to help facilitate the business’ expansion plans. Whilst Kapur aims to expand the business’ women’s lines, she has no plan to expand the “Unknown by Ayesha” line of male accessories.
