For those who were out in Paris last weekend among the menswear fashion week shows and Tranoï, Man and Capsule trade shows, the French capital, under the hot sun of the first real days of summer, had a celebratory and tranquil feel to it. Far from the taxi strikes and their aftermath just days before, events that even led the Anglo-Saxon press to profit from headlines like Is Paris burning?

Far from the terrorist, or supposed terrorist attack, the investigation is still underway, that took place in June near Lyon. This following the attacks in Paris in January (at Charlie Hebdo and the Hyper Casher market), still fresh in the minds of French and other citizens. So in light of all this, the Fédération Française de la Couture, according to our sources, felt it important to remind some of its members of the control measures recommended by the French police force a few days before the start of Couture Week, that will run from Sunday 5 July to Thursday 9 July.

They are all established measures, but they need to be reinforced: invite checks, bag checks, identity checks, etc. All the procedures that have unfortunately become the norm at the entrance of many events.

But they can only do that much more to reassure visitors, and notably foreigners, who might otherwise be questioning a visit to Paris!
