AstorMueller brand shoes are available in 35 countries including India through its shoe brands. The company first entered India through Bengaluaru in 2007 where they opened their first office. Through the business’ time in India, their success and presence has helped India to be recognised as a global manufacturing hub. This is because the group has maintained a “make in India” directive and by doing this has imported shoe making technology and knowhow that has entered into the Indian production market. India is now the largest producer of Bugatti and Daniel Hechter shoes with production facilities in cities including Ranipet and Agra.

Bugatti had a soft launch online in India last year and quickly gained popularity. The brand is known for high quality at an affordable price and so occupies a segment of the Indian market that is growing 30 to 40 percent each year. Chairman Tim Mueller stated that "the growth rate is indeed promising" and he expects it to continue to rise and would like to open flagship stores in the country. Mueller is also pushing to expand the group in Tier-1 cities and is currently working with retail partners to work on bringing Bugatti shoes to more highstreets and malls.

The AstorMueller Group was started in 1928 in Westfalen, Germany as a shoe manufacturer and distributer. The business’ headquarters are no located in Switzerland. The group started working with Daniel Hechter Shoes Ag. in 2012 and acquired Bugatti Shoes in the year 2000.
