The government of Telangana has decided to set up an apparel value chain system at the textile park that is currently under construction in Sricilla in collaboration with Kay ventures.

The Sricilla Apparel Super Hub should be fully operational in three years’ time

The estimated investment needed for the apparel hub is 100 crore rupees (approximately 15 million US dollars) and it will created by the government and the Kay group. The Apparel Super Hub will span an area of 20 acres and it will house 5,000 sewing units as well as facilities for fabric printing, embroidery, washing, and support.

The Apparel Super Hub should be fully operational in three years’ time and development will be broken down into three phases. A recently released statement by the Telangana government said: “In a similar effort, to create an impetus for the existing textile, and apparel ecosystem in Sricilla, (the) government of Telangana is gearing up with many projects such as Sricilla Apparel Park, Sricilla group weaving shed, common facility centre etc.”

Phase one of the project, which is just getting underway, will require an investment of 30 crore rupees (approximately 4.5 million dollars) and will take between nine and 12 months. The government will provide 90 percent of the investment for phase one and Kay ventures will provide ten percent. Phase two and three of the project will be funded by both the central and state government as well as Kay ventures.
