Anavila Misra to showcase her ‘Blur’ collection on LFW sustainable day

Designer Anavila Misra will showcase her sustainable collection Blur on the second day of the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2017 on August 17 in Mumbai.

LFW celebrates the second day as Sustainable Fashion and Indian Textile Day every season with emphasis on social responsibility and environmental impact. The entire day dedicated to sustainable fashion giving designers who are trying to make a difference an opportunity to showcase their collections.
 
Anavila will be closing the sustainable day this season with Blur collection that focuses on the colour black.

"I wanted to show the soft and romantic side of black through beautiful surface treatments. Black is a complete colour and lends itself beautifully to form. For this collection design and form are very important, Anavila Misra told the Fashion Network.
 
Anavila who is known for understated designs in subtle colours will be experimenting with black for the very first time.
 
In the design and fashion realm, black represents a unique form and probably is the only colour or the lack of it, that connects to the universe like no other. It continues to exude a sense of crisp formality," she added.
 
The five-day fashion week is scheduled to take place at St Regis in Mumbai from August 16 to 20.
