The designer Amit Aggarwal will show his first collection at India Couture Week which is set to run from July 25 to 29. The designer has taken his inspiration from “two wondrous natural phenomena, the formation of crystals at a molecular level and the enveloping of the metallic chrysalis around a butterfly cocoon,” according to a press release.

The collection’s colour palette will include rose quartz jewel tones, silver onyx, emerald, amethyst, topaz, and sapphire, as a nod to the crystals that inspired the collection. Metallic shades of rose gold, silver, pewter, and light gold will also feature.

The Crystalis collection will include several embroidery techniques including Zardozi and Ari hand techniques. Three dimensional embroidery will also feature to create motifs that mimic the form of crystals and add a tactile element to the collection. Traditional and Western inspire draping will mix with tailoring to create the collection's signature silhouette.

Aggarwal has collaborated with the textile designer Tanira Sethi for the collection. Sethi has created unique engineered and embellished cashmere laces which were produced in France.
