Amazon launches International Shopping experience for mobile

Amazon has launched what it is calling the "International Shopping" experience, allowing users to shop through the app and on mobile browsers in 5 languages and 25 currencies with more to be added later in 2018.

The International Shopping experience -

The International Shopping functionality customizes each user's experience, displaying exclusively products that can be shipped to their location. The service also includes duty estimates, shipping costs and coordination through customs. Current categories available are clothing, shoes,  electronics, books and toys.

Commenting on the launch in a release, Samir Kumar, VP of Amazon exports and expansion explained, “Customers have been asking for a way to easily find and shop only for products available to be shipped to them."

"The International Shopping experience solves this customer need and makes it simple to browse, shop and ship more than 45 million products to over a hundred countries around the world”, he added. 

The launch version of the International Shopping experience comes in English, Spanish, simplified Chinese, German, and Brazilian Portuguese. 

To access the International Shopping experience, customers can download the Amazon Shopping app through Apple's App Store or through Google Play. Their location is identified and they are automatically placed in the experience.

Existing Amazon Shopping app users can select the International Shopping experience through their settings.
