Amazon is coming with wave 2 of ‘Great Indian Festival’

Amazon India has announced that it will be back with its flagship event 'Great Indian Festival' which it is calling Wave 2 and is scheduled to be held from October 24 to 28.
 

Amazon will offer discounts of up to 90 percent across categories and additionally also offer 15 percent cashback on the fashion category.
 
Fashion was the biggest category in terms of units sold during its recently concluded Wave 1 of the ‘Great Indian Festival’.

“After an overwhelming Wave 1 of our Great Indian Festival, we are excited to usher in Wave 2 for all customers. We will continue to offer the best selection and biggest deals on our entire selection – from fashion to home & kitchen products, and more,” said Manish Tiwary, vice president of category management at Amazon India.
 
Flipkart and other online retailers are yet to announce the second edition of their sale event. It remains to be seen if Amazon will be competing again or get a solo run.
 
During the recently concluded festive sale, Amazon and Flipkart went head to head with both businesses claiming to be a winner with better sales revenue.
 
According to consultancy firm RedSeer, the total revenue generated by all e-commerce firms for the last sale event was around $2.3 billion.
