Amazon India’s ‘Saheli’ store launched for women entrepreneurs

E-commerce major Amazon India has collaborated with organizations like SEWA (Self-Employed Women Association), Impulse Social Enterprise to launch an exclusive store for women entrepreneurs on its India platform.

The new Amazon store is called ‘Saheli’ (which mean women’s friend in Hindi) and will enable women entrepreneurs from across the country sell their products online with the help of the e-commerce giant.
 
'The Saheli Store' on the Amazon India marketplace will give these women entrepreneurs a platform to sell their products directly to its wide customer base. Amazon will provide all the necessary support in terms of logistics and fulfillment facilities to help give a boost to their businesses.

"Through Amazon Saheli we aim to bring a change in the lives of thousands of women entrepreneurs with the help of our partners," director and GM Seller Services, Amazon India, Gopal Pillai said in a statement.
 
"SEWA is happy to partner with Amazon which share the same vision to not only provide women entrepreneurs access to millions of new customers and become economically secured and will generate employment opportunities for many more young women," said Reema Nanavati who leads SEWA.
 
The store will feature exclusive products like handicrafts, apparel, handbags and home decor items made locally by women entrepreneurs. The product portfolio will be expanded post tie ups with other organizations and women entrepreneurs.
