Amazon India launches first Fulfilment Centre in Madhya Pradesh

Amazon India has launched of its first Fulfilment Centre (FC) in Madhya Pradesh taking the total number to 28 across the country. The company is planning to add 3 more before the festival of Diwali which is in November this year.

The FC in Madhya Pradesh is situated in the city of Indore and spread over nearly 40,000 square feet with over 35,000 cubic feet of storage space.
 
The FC will empower thousands of small & medium businesses to leverage the growth of the digital economy and reach a wide customer base enabling Amazon.in to support deliveries under its Prime program and offer faster delivery during the upcoming festive season, Amazon said in a statement.

“Amazon India’s investment in Madhya Pradesh with the launch of their Fulfilment Centre signifies the growing interest of large global enterprises in the state. We are committed to enabling the ease of doing business and helping companies like Amazon.in to expand their presence in Madhya Pradesh”, said Raghuraj Rajendran, IAS, Managing Director, M.P. State Electronics Dev. Corp. Ltd.
 
Amazon has been investing heavily to scale up its infrastructure requirements in India to dethrone Flipkart as the leading e-commerce company in the country.
