A change is occurring at the top of Moschino. At the end of this month, CEO Alessandro Varisco is leaving the luxury brand, which is owned by the Italian fashion group Aeffe, to join Twin-Set Simona Barbieri, the ready-to-wear brand owned by the investment firm Carlyle.

Aeffe Group’s executive president Massimo Ferretti and Marcello Tassinari, the group’s managing director and chief financial officer, will take over in the interim.

Alessandro Varisco took up the reins of Moschino in 2009, when the brand was being hit hard by the 2008 economic crisis. It has since returned to growth thanks to retail and strong internationalization, also boosted by the arrival a little over a year ago of Jeremy Scott as its artistic director.

Before joining Moschino, Alessandro Varisco previously worked for Roberta di Camerino and Gianfranco Ferré.
