Amazon India said around 12,000 merchants in India are selling their products in global markets.

“Under the programme, merchants can sell their products across nine global marketplaces like the US, the UK, Japan, Canada and France,” Gopal Pillai, Amazon India director and general manager (Seller Services) told a news agency.

According to Pillai, a few of the products which see significant traction for these sellers include; ethnic wear, handicrafts and jewellery.

Amazon India, which has been expanding its operations in India at an insistent pace has now unveiled another programme for sellers called Amazon Connect, which offers merchants an integrated platform to interact with the Amazon India senior team.

"Amazon Connect will help sellers understand better our seller-centric products and services as well as emerging trends in ecommerce, with the objective being to enable sellers to grow profitably on the Amazon India platform," Pillai added.
